Paul McHugh joined IPO in 2016, transitioning to the world of multifamily brokerage from a burgeoning career as a practicing attorney in the State of Michigan. While he enjoyed the experience and appreciated the challenges associated with the legal profession, Paul recognized that his true passion was in real estate. Paul’s immediate focus in the multifamily brokerage field was to lead IPO’s entry and business expansion activities into the Columbus, Ohio market. Paul quickly established himself as a top sales performer in the Columbus Metro area, by successfully closing more than $700 Million in transactional volume. He is now leading IPO into the Kentucky market.
His unique professional background which includes legal experience, work within a large multinational corporation (BMW), and his recent years as a broker has positioned Paul to be an important contributor to IPO. Paul’s ability to be an effective advocate is bolstered by the many skills that he has acquired. Paul developed an ability to understand diverse viewpoints in business settings and cultivated the extensive analytical and risk management skills needed to effectively protect his clients’ interests.
Paul is active in five states with high-profile deals such as: The Niche – University of Florida (252 units, valued at 37.5 million), THE Griff – Columbus, Ohio (586 units, valued at 71 million), Katheryn’s Place – Grove City OH (60 units, valued at 8 million), and Parkview – Columbus OH (216 units, valued at 30 million).
Paul’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Communication from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, and a Juris Doctor degree from Thomas Cooley Law School. Paul is licensed as the managing broker in Kentucky, associate broker in Ohio, and a sales associate in Michigan.
